Though Aimee Mann hasn’t released an album since 2008’s @#%&! Smilers, she has been busy turning her 2005 album, The Forgotten Arm, into a musical.
The album’s songs tell the story of John, a Vietnam War veteran-turned-boxer, who struggles with an addiction. Soon, John falls in love with Caroline and together, the two travel across the country.
The tour kicks off with a special three-night event at The Dakota in Minneapolis from Sept. 13-15 and runs through Oct. 10 at The Uptown Theatre in Napa, Calif.

Aimee Mann is an American rock guitarist, bassist and singer/songwriter. She first came onto the music scene as a member of the post-new wave group ‘Til Tuesday. She was with the group for three albums before focusing strictly on her solo career.
Her first solo release in 1993, “Whatever” introduced a move towards an “introspective folk-tinged” sound. It was minimally received by the mainstream despite the standout recognition from critics and fellow musicians for her song writing.
In 1995, Aimee’s second album was halted due to legal battles with Imago records after they filed for bankruptcy. (Read More…)
